Beautiful Story (8)...Better to Give

A young man, a student in one of the universities, was one day taking a walk with a Professor, who was commonly called the student's friend, from his kindness to those who waited on his instructions. As they went along,they saw lying in the path a pair of old shoes, which they supposed to belong to a poor man who was employed in a field close by,and who had nearly finished his day's work. 


The student turned to the professor, saying: "Let us play the man a trick: we will hide his shoes, and conceal ourselves behind those bushes, and wait to see his perplexity when he cannot find them." "My young friend," answered the professor, "we should never amuse ourselves at the expense of the poor. But you are rich, and may give yourself a much greater pleasure by means of this poor man. Put a coin in each shoe, and then we will hide ourselves and watch how this affects him." The student did so and they both placed themselves behind the bushes close by. 


The poor man soon finished his work, and came across the field to the path where he had left his coat and shoes. While putting on his coat he slipped his foot into one of his shoes, but feeling something hard, he stooped down to feel what it was, and found the coin. Astonishment and wonder were seen upon his countenance. He gazed upon the coin, turned it around, and looked at it again and again. He then looked around him on all sides, but no person was to be seen. He now put the money into his pocket, and proceeded to put on the other shoe; but his surprise was doubled on finding the other coin. His feelings overcame him; he fell upon his knees, looked up to the heavens and uttered aloud a fervent thanksgiving in which he spoke of his wife who was sick and helpless, and his children without bread, whom this timely bounty, from some unknown hand,would save from perishing. 


The student stood there deeply affected, and his eyes filled with tears. "Now," said the professor, are you not much better pleased than if you had played your intended trick?" The youth replied, "You have taught me a lesson which I will never forget. I feel now the truth of these words, which I never understood before: "It's more blessed to give than to receive."                                                               


Abdullah bin Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sallAllahu alaiyhi wassallam) said that encouraging good, prohibiting evil, lifting the burden of the weak person and removing an offensive thing from a path are all acceptable prayers to Allah. [ibn Majah]

Beautiful Story (7)...Story of the Empty House

There was an old family that was financially stable, they earned enough but lived in a simple, little hut. They didn't have proper carpet just bits and pieces of it here and there, no nice furniture nor a big tele, just a simple little house with no luxurious stuff.

The people of the community who lived nearby used to visit this woman that lived in this small hut and they would see how run down her home was and they talked amongst themselves in the community. "Have you seen what dump they live in, it's a sham! they haven't even chairs to sit on nor carpets. The wallpapers all peeling. What do they do with the money they earn? her husband has a high paid job!"

One day one of the woman's friends come to her house and they were sitting chatting and the friend says 'Your husbands has a well payed job so why don't you get this house done up?'

The woman replies 'We've got another house so we use our money on that instead because we don't see the point of spending it on here'.

The woman's friend is surprised and says 'Oh i didn't know you had another house, where is this house?'

The woman replies 'In Jannah'

How often do we decorate our homes? InshALLAH let's do good actions each day and slowly your house will be built in bricks of gold and silver. The more good deeds you do your house will have planning permission to grow :) Let's utilise our wealth and help the orphans, the widows, the ill. Let's utilise our wealth to help build mosques.

May ALLAH grant us all beautiful homes in the hereafter, Aameen

True Story (1)...The Professor and The Beard

In the days gone by, to keep a beard was a test, especially in civil service. In 1957, I applied for the gazetted post of Medical Officer and had to appear before a panel of interviewers. Alhumdulillah, by the virtue of my MBBS record and the many medals and position of distinction I had been awarded, I was first in order of merit.

However because of my beard being according to Sunnah, I was told; "We need a Medical Officer for this job, not an Imaam of a Mosque." I was refused the job. I tolerated this. This job was given to someone else, and I was made junior and a subordinate to 150 Medical Officers.

Then ALLAH Ta'ala showered HIS bounty upon me by the vrtue of following the Sunnah of HIS beloved Nabi Muhammad (Sallalahu Alayhe Wasallam). I attained two more degrees and soon after qualifying as a professor, I became seior incharge of 150 Medical Officers.

Sometimes a person is tested because of practicing a Sunnah of our Nabi Muhammad (Sallalahu Alayhe Wasallam), but if we remain steadfast and persevere patiently, ALLAH Ta'ala will definately grant us a better recompense.

May ALLAH Ta'ala endow us all with perfect Imaan and make us ardent followers of the sunnah of HIS most beloved Nabi Muhammad (Sallalahu Alayhe Wasallam). Aameen

Beautiful Story (6)...Imam Bukhari's Eye Sight

Imam Bukhari, who was one of the greatest compilers of ahadith, became blind at a young age. He had recourse to many famous and skilled doctors of his time but their treatments made no difference. His mother was a pious worshipper and a righteous woman. She cried out for help in the court of Allah the Almighty, for her child and begged for the restoration of his eyesight. At last, "the river of mercy flowed over her," and Almighty Allah accepted her invocation. One night, she visited Ibrahim alayhis-salam in a dream and was told, "Allah has restored the sight of your son because of your intense and beautiful invocations." In the morning, as Imam Bukhari got up from his bed, glimmers of light reached out into his eyes. That is, his eyesight was fully restored.

Beautiful Story (5)...The Splashes of Life

My grandfather took me to the fishpond on the farm when I was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the water. He told me to watch the circles created by the stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone person.

You may create lots of splashes in your life but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures, he said. Remember you are responsible for what you put in your circle and that circle will also touch many other circles. You will need to live in a way that allows good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both.

That was the first time I realized each person creates the inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner conflict, hatred, doubt or anger. We radiate feelings and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all other circles of life.

“If a person loves an attribute of Allah, this will help Allah to reach Allah.
